Today is Eric’s 9th birthday. We didn’t do a whole lot because his party is on Saturday, but I did let him open one of the smaller gifts I got him. It wasn’t anything overly big, but he loved it. I guess that just shows how well I know my kiddo, lol. It was a small Lego Star Wars set, and he has been playing with it since he got home from school. He wanted t-bone for dinner tonight, as his “birthday dinner” so we went and picked up a fat t-bone from the grocery store and some stuff for baked potatoes. He loves that stuff.
I can’t believe my son is already 9 years old. I can still remember very vividly the first time I saw him, held him, and looked into his eyes. He was and still is so beautiful. I sometimes can’t believe I’m so blessed. I know I complain sometimes about certain things, but I think everyone complains sometimes. It’s just in our nature, isn’t it? I mean just seeing him smile and making him happy is the highlight of my day. And that’s all that I need. I live for that smile.
This morning when he got out of the car and ran to the bus, like every other morning, I just watched him carrying his little lunch bag and heading off to school and it made me smile. I couldn’t help think to myself how proud I am of him. He’s growing up to be a really wonderful young man and I love watching him grow. I thank God for blessing me with Eric every day of my life.

Well, it looks like my little punkin is going to have a new little girl cousin soon. My friend, and Eric’s Aunt Erica is having a little girl in a few months. They just found out the gender of the baby a couple of weeks ago. I’m sure she’s thrilled. I think Erica will make an excellent mother, she’s lived her life and had her fun, and settled down nicely. I’m so happy for her.
Speaking of babies, Eric called me from my mom’s yesterday (yes he’s still there) to tell me that my mom was babysitting my cousin’s newborn son. Eric was so excited to have him there, he adores babies so much it’s not even funny. He’s constantly asking me to “give him a brother or sister”. HAH. No more kids for me, but I sure don’t mind other people’s babies. Babies are usually so cute and cuddly. They lose their cuteness at about age 3-4 though, especially if they turn into obnoxious little children.
Anyway, remember that old saying.. “What are little boys made of?” - Answer: “Frogs and snails and puppydog tails.” “What are little girls made of?” - Answer: “Sugar and spice and everything nice.”. I don’t believe this to be true because honestly I have had a pretty easy time with my little boy and I have friends who have little girls who are heathens. My son does like frogs and snails though, so I dunno. LOL.

I’m feeling kinda lonely and I’m home all alone since Eric’s at my mom’s. I had to take him to my mom’s because I have 3 doctor’s appointments right in a row on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. I miss him though, and I wish that my parents lived closer so that I wouldn’t have to drive him so far out for so many days. If they lived closer I could just drop him off for a few hours and pick him back up.. but with gas prices being the way they are and with the time it takes to drive all the way out there, it’s just not possible.
I went to a new psychiatrist today. She’s alright I guess. She kept asking me about my son, and how I got along with being bipolar and having a kid. I think she was just wanting to make sure I didn’t mistreat my son or whatever. I wouldn’t ever do that, bipolar or not. But I guess I can understand her concern… I’ve heard some crazy stories about that kinda stuff. I love my little (not really little anymore) punkin way too much to ever cause him harm like that.
