I thought I’d give those widgets a try.. lol.

I recently upgraded Coveted.Net’s wordpress installation. I am not running on 2.5, which after some getting used to, I don’t mind at all. The plug-ins I already had installed still seem to work and the interface is really nice. So in case anyone was wondering, I’d definitely recommend upgrading. With the upgrade came some changes in the widget section of the wordpress admin panel. I liked the way they had it all arranged so I figured I’d give the widgets a try, so I could have my subscribe form right on the side, and also have my categories list in a drop down menu. That’s all fine and dandy for sidebar 1, but when I use widgets, my 2nd sidebar totally disappears. So yeah, I guess I’m not doing the widgets. I like the set up of this theme and I’m not wanting to change it just to be able to use widgets.

I’m going to make some customized smilies for this blog sometime this week. I just haven’t decided what exactly. I’m pretty happy with the way this site is coming along, though, and after just a few more changes and modifications I think I’ll be totally satisfied with it. I wonder why I didn’t do a mommy blog sooner?

I’m still looking for link exchanges, so anyone who is interested just let me know. I prefer to exchange with other parents, dad or mom bloggers, or family oriented blog sites.

Math And Science Night

Thursday night was Math and Science Night at my son’s elementary school. Since his favorite subjects are Math and Science, he really wanted to go. It turned out to be quite fun. The teachers had set up different classrooms with small Science projects and various projects, as well as some Math games and whatnot. I think my favorite room was where the kids got to make their own ice cream. It wasn’t anything fancy, or hard.. and it came out to about 1/4 cup of vanilla ice cream. They also made their own puzzles and we played some fun Math games. At every classroom the kids went to they received this tickets and they put their name and teacher’s name on them.. and at the end of the night in the library they got to choose prizes they’d like to be entered into drawings to win. Eric put all of his tickets into the DVD Player with a bunch of movies. He had such a great time. I plan on posting up the recipe for the ice cream within the next couple of posts. (Gotta find it, lol) So, for those parents who enjoy doing fun little projects with their kids, this might be one you’ll be interested in. I enjoy doing things like that with Eric, and he’s really into doing anything “experiemental” anyways, cause he loves Science so much. He says he is going to be a Scientist when he grows up.
