Sick Little Boy :(

Eric got sent home from school today because he was throwing up. The school nurse called my mother’s house because she could not get in touch with me. My mom called me and told me I needed to go pick him up. I don’t get how the nurse couldn’t get in touch with me considering I called the school on Friday and gave them my new number. I just recently changed it due to some weirdos bugging me.

Anyway, Eric’s sleeping now. He usually gets sick around his birthday for some reason. Even he noticed that. He said “I told the nurse I always end up getting sick around my birthday.” Last year we were unsure if we were going to be able to have his birthday party because he was ill, but the day before the party he started to feel better. I’m sometimes just not sure if it’s simply his reflux acting up, or what. Since I started making his lunches at home as opposed to him buying the hot lunches at school, he hasn’t gotten sick at all up until now. This leads me to believe it is more than likely not reflux, but maybe a virus or something. Thankfully he is not running a fever.

The Kiddo Gave Me A Bug

I usually post way more than I have been the last few days, but I do have a valid excuse I think. My excuse? I’ve just been super busy. Also, today I’m quite ill, and I think I caught it from my son. I kept him home from school today because last night he was throwing up really bad and this morning he still wasn’t feeling very well. Well, today I ended up feeling like he did last night, and it’s not a good feeling at all. I’ve only been out of bed for the past 30 minutes, I’ve been sleeping or vomiting most of the day. I did get out of bed around 6 to fix my son’s dinner. I’m thankful he’s old enough now that if I am sick he is able to deal with me not doing everything for him. When he was younger, being sick was very difficult.

Anyway, if Eric is not still sick by Friday (which I’m sure he won’t be, cause he’s already starting to feel better) he’s going to my mom’s for the weekend. Friday is Halloween, so we were going there anyway so he could go to the party at the church, but my mom asked if he could stay the whole weekend. Fine by me, I could definitely use the break. (I’m obviously retarded and for some reason lost a week somewhere. Friday is NOT Halloween, but we are still going to my mom’s on Halloween. Btw Thanks Julie for the correction.) Since he missed so much school because of Hurricane Ike, they’ve been taking away all of the off days he would normally have to make up for it. SO he hasn’t been out to my mom’s in awhile. Halloween is a good opportunity for that, I think. :)

People Can Make A Difference

If I haven’t mentioned it before, I absolutely LOVE ABC.Com. When the new season of all the shows I watch started I totally didn’t realize it and I missed the first few episodes. So tonight I decided to watch a missed episode of Extreme Makeover Home Edition. The episode I watched was about a family with 2 daughters who had SMA, a debilitating disease that keeps them confined to a wheelchair. Their home wasn’t suitable to live in because the girls couldn’t go anywhere or do anything due to the fact that the home was split-level and they can’t walk. Their mother had to carry them up and down stairs all the time. Anyway, that’s not even the part that really got my attention the most. It’s about CVS Pharmacy. In most episodes that I have watched in the past year or so, I’ve noticed that CVS is getting more involved. They paid off this family’s mortgage and medical expenses on this episode. They’ve done that alot for families in the past. I think it’s wonderful of them, and yes I am aware that it’s a tax write off, but who cares? Look what they do for so many people. I think it’s simply awesome. What they, and what Sears does for these families is just so great. Look how they change people’s lives? I’m a firm believer that money can’t buy happiness and it definitely isn’t the most important thing in the world, but it sure does help. You need money to have any kind of life, even if it’s just a little bit and so many of us especially with the economy being the way it is, worry about money on a daily basis. It’s so nice that there are companies like that that help make some of our lives just a little less worrisome.
