I ordered Eric some jeans from Sears.Com last night. It’s been getting code and he’s outgrown the jeans that fit him just 3 months ago. He’s a growing boy, though. That’s what kids do.
Anyway, I drove Eric to my mom’s house and got to see my cousin’s new baby tonight. She babysits the baby while my cousin and his wife work. He’s so adorable. I mean I know most babies are adorable, but some are like extra super adorable or something. He knows he’s a cutie, too. He’s a happy little boy, and is super ticklish. Grr.. I’m getting the “I want one” feeling right now because I absolutely love babies. Deep down though, I know I don’t really want another child, but man are babies cute. Babies always make me feel good inside for some reason, and that’s something I don’t feel very often.
Anyway, while Eric is at my mom’s I’m going to relax a little bit and I’m also going to try to get some much needed cleaning done. The much needed cleaning actually consists of going through my son’s room and trying to figure out a way to make room for the new stuff he’ll be getting at Christmas. That’s going to be tough.

Being that I like to put alot of thought into the gifts I choose for my loved ones at Christmas, I feel pretty confident when it comes to the things I pick out for my son. Depending on what type of child you are buying for, the type of gifts they would enjoy will vary greatly. Consider their likes, dislikes, and what they like to do with their free time and go from there. My son likes anything science related, he loves to learn, loves math, video games, reading, arts & crafts and his computer. He also loves to build and create things. Yes, my son is a nerd. I love my little nerd, though, so don’t hate. Keeping all that in mind I like to pick out gifts that will not only be alot of fun for him but that will stimulate his mind as well. I do like to pick out things that he will simply have fun with, though. Kids gotta have their fun, you know.
I can’t really say what I’ve bought him, because he might actually read this and I don’t want to give anything away. But I find that Amazon.Com has tons of cool science related toys and gifts. Last year I picked out a microscope and some test tube experiments off of Amazon for a really good price. Other places I like to shop are Hasbro.Com (nerf dart guns ftw) and Discovery Channel Store. There are tons of great educational, yet fun toys to be found there. Also, you can’t go wrong with stuff like K’nex and Legos, depending on how old your kid is of course. My son loves both of those and spends alot of time playing with his K’nex and Lego sets.
For good measure, I throw in a few pairs of pajamas and stuff like that under the tree, as well as a couple of books. I sometimes go check out Hobby Lobby to see what kind of crafty things they have on sale. Eric’s really into painting and drawing and loves to spend hours exploring his creative side. I guess I’m lucky. My son is pretty well rounded and actually extremely easy to shop for.

I did some online Christmas shopping a couple of days ago, and some of the kidd’s Christmas gifts are on their way! I’m relieved to have gotten some of it done. I’m usually finished by now but I’ve just been preoccupied I guess. I haven’t been “into” the holidays this year like I usually am. I’m pretty sure alot of that has to do with some personal issues that I’m going through right now. I don’t want to elaborate on that right now, though. Anyway, I have several things still that I am going to get him, all of which I should be able to pick up at Toys R Us. It shouldn’t be too hard, because I know my kid pretty well and I know what he likes and doesn’t like. I also don’t believe in getting a ton of senseless gifts just for the simple fact of “having alot of presents”. I put alot of thought into each and every item that I choose for my son, that way none of his gifts ever go “untouched”.
Right now he’s really into Lego Star Wars stuff, and it seems that every other boy around his age is also because that stuff is kinda hard to find at the moment. I did manage to get him some of the things that were on his Christmas list, and hopefully I’ll be able to find a few more things that he really wants. I’m not going to get him every single thing on his list though, that would be absurd. My son is spoiled, but he’s not THAT spoiled. LOL
