Bragging Rights

My kiddo got his progress reports last Friday. All As! And he got a 100 on his reading and writing benchmark tests! I’m so proud. He loves science, which is evident by this progress report:

I know it’s not my doing that gets him his grades, but I know that I can at least take partial credit because I do my job as a parent to make sure he takes school seriously and gets all of his work done. The rest is up to him.

He wants to be a scientist when he grows up, and also a chef.

I’m a proud Mama. :P

School Is Kind Of Overwhelming Sometimes

Speaking of school, I really do like it but I’m feeling so overwhelmed this semester. Last semester I made really high As in every class. This semester I’ll be lucky to get Bs. That’s okay I guess, I mean Bs aren’t BAD it’s just that I’m kind of a perfectionist. This semester is different in many ways though. Last semester there wasn’t anything that was keeping my attention. Certain people weren’t around, and I didn’t have a boyfriend. But it’s okay, I’m managing.

Next semester I’m going to take some other classes that aren’t exactly related to my major. I have my reasons for it but namely it’s because the way that my classes were set up the first and second semesters I still need to take some preQs for other classes or I won’t be able to take them, so I’ll have a few free hours next semester and I think I’ll take a business management class. I plan on getting my real estate license too and having a little business on the side and during the summer. That’s the plan but I’m not sure it’s going to work out that way.

I do know that if I do plan on going into any type of business for myself I will definitely need to take some classes. I know nothing of marketing strategies, business meetings, or any of that stuff. A classmate of mine told me the other day that she needed to get some custom presentation folders for her business presentation and I seriously got completely confused. I don’t want to be confused.

So yeah, that’s my plan academically. Who knows if it’ll change or not. Thus far, though, I’m happy with the choices I have made and hope that I continue down this path.

Making Plans For Summer Already!

This summer my boyfriend wants to take me somewhere, for a bit of a vacation. He says I work too hard. So sweet! Anyway, I’ve been thinking about it a lot because there are several places I’d like to go and summer really isn’t that far off. I mean spring break is just about 2 1/2 weeks away I think. I’m kind of looking forward to spring break, for various reasons also.

So I’ve been looking at travel websites and searching for deals on different types of travel packages. I’m not wanting to go overseas just yet. I think maybe one day I’d like to go to Europe with him, but we’ll see. He’s pretty amazing and he loves to travel, so I’m sure that during the course of our relationship we will probably do quite a bit of traveling.

The places I have in mind for a summer vacation are Florida, California, Colorado, or maybe the Carolinas. Also, Vegas has crossed my mind but I’m not sure because if my kiddo comes he wouldn’t really have that much fun in Vegas. I’ve found some great deals on Orlando vacation packages and Disney Land and/or Disney World packages too. I’m undecided yet, though.

All I know is that I’m totally looking forward to this summer. After last semester and this semester, motherhood and life in general I am exhausted!
