Talking To My Grandma Can Sometimes Be Strange

I’ve been trying to eat healthier lately, but it’s hard sometimes. Especially when you don’t have alot of time on your hands to prepare meals and what not. Sometimes I have time, but sometimes I get busy. Who doesn’t? I was talking to my grandmother the other night about my diet and exercise regime and she was going on and on about something called Colonix and I totally had no idea what she was talking about. My gramma is old and sometimes rambles incoherantly, or so I thought. Anyway when I got home I looked it up and it turns out it’s some kind of colon cleansing thing.I mean, yeah. It’s not something I think I want to talk to my grandmother about but it is something to think about I guess.

It’s Been Almost Two Years Since…

Back in August of 2007 our apartment flooded in some freak flood that happened after hurricane Rita hit. It was nice and sunny one minute and pouring the next and within 2 hours our whole apartment was flooded. I had to send Eric to my parent’s house right away so that I could get everything cleaned up and packed. We had to move immediately. The apartments gave us 3 days to find a new place to live. They did let me out of the lease there, but still it was going to be a pain finding a new place and packing. Since we live in Texas and it was August and very hot it didn’t take long for mold and mildew to start growing so I knew I had to hurry up.

After packing everything in plastic bins and saving what I could save I found a new apartment that was alot nicer but way more expensive. At this point though, that wasn’t even important. I just needed to find a safe place for us to live. Movers were hired and everything was moved in a couple of hours. We’ve been in this new place for almost 2 years now, but when we first moved here we barely had anything due to everything being ruined in the flood.

We had to basically start over. My (now ex) boyfriend helped out alot back then with stuff. We had to get all new furniture, even new beds. I remember the day I moved in I had to order beds to be delivered otherwise we would have been sleeping on the floor. I looked at a couple of different beds including a sleep number bed but settled on just a pillow-top queen. I also had no internet access whatsoever and we didn’t even have a dining room table! It was all rather unpleasant for awhile but eventually things got settled and taken care of.

If I learned anything from that horrific experience it’s that if you are going to live in a downstairs apartment then make sure it’s high enough up that you don’t have to worry about flooding. :(

Thinking Of Starting Another Blog

I’ve been thinking of starting up a “review” type of website. Review websites are cool because you get free samples of stuff to review. Not just samples, though, but all kinds of stuff. I think it’ll be a review site strictly for things that mostly women use. I’ll more than likely do stuff like Clothing reviews, cleaning product reviews, diet pill reviews and stuff like that. I’ll even review children’s products and jewelry. Why not. I think it’ll be fun and like I said I would love getting free stuff to try out. If anyone wants to be involved or has any ideas, comment or email me. :)
