So Eric’s teacher sent home a note about an overdue library book and how he won’t get his report card unless it’s returned. I’m like “what?” I always make sure that his library books are returned on time. Well, I do as much as I can. I toss them in his backpack every other Monday. It’s his responsibility to make sure they actually make it back to the library. Anyway, I dunno where to look because I keep his stuff as organized as I can and I really haven’t seen any stray books. Plus I recall actually sticking it in his backpack. So I’m uncertain as to where it could be. I’ll be kind of annoyed if I actually have to pay for it. But that’s life I suppose.
On another note, the kiddo has been doing pretty good with keeping his room clean. I have to get on him a bit about it, but for the most part it’s not too terrible lately. It’s good for me and my ocd, that’s for sure. I still have to get on to him alot about picking up after himself, but he’s a kid yet and I’m hoping as he gets older he’ll become more responsible with that kind of stuff. I guess we’ll see as time goes on.
Life is pretty boring lately, but compared to how it can be sometimes that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Anyway, I think I need to update wordpress on here. I might do that tonight.
Ciao.

At the end of this month my vehicle inspection sticker expires. This means I’ll have to take my vehicle to a local service station and have them conduct an inspection on it. I’m really not looking forward to it because it’s the same every year. They are supposed to just give your car a safety inspection but instead they end up throwing it up on one of those car lifts and looking under it, all around it at things that don’t really pertain to the safety of the vehicle whatsoever. Then they come back at you with “this thing is about to go out.”, “if you don’t get this fixed now it will be more costly down the line.”, “yada, yada, yada.” Anyway, they always end up doing this to me anda I walk away paying way more than the $47.50 that the average car and emissions inspection would cost. Whatever.

Eric brought home last week’s conduct sheet with 3 conduct marks on it. I am less than thrilled. It’s not that bad for a week, but still. I sometimes wonder if maybe I expect too much from him, because I honestly expect him to get zero conduct marks. Is this unrealistic or what?
On Friday, his class had their Valentine’s party. Each child is designated to bring something for the party and Eric’s teacher chose for him to bring the cookies. (I think I said that in a previous post.) Anyway, so he wanted me to make them homemade, so I did. I personally think they turned out really good and so did his teacher. She took some home and sent a note saying that any time I want to make cookies for her or the class, I am more than welcome. I love getting compliments like that.
Anyway, here’s a picture of the cookies. I would throw the recipe up here but I simply don’t feel like it. The cookies and the icing are both fairly easy to make. The hardest part is rolling it out and using the cutouts without them sticking. If you want the recipe, shoot me an email and I’ll hook you up.
