I’m Considering Changing Our Cell Phone Numbers

I’ve been contemplating getting new cell numbers for Eric and myself. One of the reasons is because there are a few questionable people who “happened upon” (hacked into) my cell phone account and now have my information. Another is the fact that awhile back a certain person went into an America Online chatroom and scrolled my son’s cell phone number to people in the local Houston chat rooms. How ignorant is that? I mean it’s one thing for some freak who lives in another state to have my kid’s number but someone who lives locally to us? What if some murderous psycho pedophile happened to be able to get my son to answer his phone and social information out of him by pretending to be someone else? Then he could possibly get our location. Also, the fact that it’s not that hard to get information on cell phone numbers these days.. anyway.

Then there’s this ridiculous toll free number that keeps calling me. Repeatedly, at all hours of the day. They are for some university that I guess wants you to attend. I mean if they were that good of a university, would they have to harrass people into submission? Seriously, if you are that desperate for students that you continually harrass people, you obviously aren’t worth the paper your crappy diplomas are printed on.

New Year’s Resolutions

Around the beginning of every year, people talk about their New Year’s resolutions. I used to make resolutions years ago, but I stopped doing so because I always blew them within the first month. I honestly think making a resolution on New Year’s is basically just setting yourself up to fail. I don’t think resolutions are ever really meant to be seen all the way to the finish. Most times a New Year’s resolution is just something we want to do or need to do that we feel we are too weak to do. That’s where the resolution comes in. If we can resolve on New Year’s to get it done, then of course we have given ourselves a goal, a reason and an agenda. The problem is, if it’s something you really wanted to do, you’d have done it already and you wouldn’t need a resolution to even consider getting it done. I don’t know if that makes sense, but that’s basically how I see it. Now, if I had made a New Year’s resolution, it would have been to lose a little weight. I did not resolve to do so because I knew that would be pointless and I’d break the resolution probably within the first few months because I don’t do diets very well. Although I’ve heard of a new weight loss supplement called Anoretix that’s supposed to be really good. I might check it out. Either way, I’m going to get started on my non-resolution just as soon as I finish eating this chocolate snack cake. :P

Behavior Issues

Eric’s behavior as of late has been less than satisfactory. It’s gotten to the point where I really don’t know what to do sometimes. I have considered taking parenting classes or perhaps buying a self help book on how to discipline your unruly child. I know that if I let my anger get the best of me then I will regret it in the long run. He’s not all bad though, it’s just his smart mouth that gets to me the worst. To top it all off, after he acts like he does he’ll come to me acting all sweet and wanting something. Just yesterday he asked me to look at this website that sold talking watches because he said that he wanted a watch that could speak the time. I explained to him that he already has 2 watches he never wears and that I’m not buying him anything else until he deserves it. That could honestly be awhile.
