Christmas Recap, Finally
Well, I’ve been super busy the past week with Christmas and all, so I haven’t had time to do my little Christmas “recap”. Now that I have a few minutes, I figured I’d go ahead and let you all know that we had a lovely Christmas. My son was very happy with all of his gifts, especially his video camera. He’d been asking for a video camera since last Christmas and I finally broke down and bought it for him. He abosolutely loves it. He also loved the different Lego Star Wars sets he got, and has already put all the ships together. It’s funny, it seemed like he was almost becoming OCD over it because he didn’t want to stop putting them together until they were complete. I had to force him to pull himself away at times. I also got him a 19″ flat panel lcd tv. He needed it anyway, because his tube television was not only very old and broken, but in February it would have become obsolete anyway. Since the coaxial connector on it was also broken I would not have been able to hook up a digital converter box anyway. He also got a Nintendo DS with Guitar Hero and Super Mario Kart DS. To be quite honest, I love the Mario Kart game more than he does.
I’ve been playing it like crazy.
Anyway, on Christmas Eve we spent the evening at my parent’s house opening gifts and what not. It was fun. Everyone loved their gifts including myself. I don’t personally believe Christmas is all about getting and giving presents, but it’s still fun. I enjoy the “feeling” though, usually and spending time with my loved ones more than anything else. On Christmas Day my aunt, cousin and my son’s grandfather came over to exchange gifts and spend some time with Eric and I. They live pretty far away so we barely ever get to see any of them. My cousin was extremely thrilled with her gifts because I got her the one thing she really wanted this year and that was the Twilight books collection, in hardcover format. She was so excited. That’s part of what I love about Christmas, seeing the faces of the people I love light up when they open the perfect gift.
So the last few days I’ve been trying to relax, while Eric continues to try out his new toys and make mess after mess after mess. It’s okay though, he’s having fun and that’s all that matters.
Tonight we made some cream cheese mints in Christmas colors. I know it’s not Christmas anymore but oh well. I’ll post that recipe on my other blog, so if you know what it is and are interested in making them go check it out later.
Merry (Late) Christmas!!
