Dropping Hints For Christmas

Being that Christmas is getting closer, Chris and I had been discussing whether or not we are going to bother even exchanging gifts this year. If we do exchange gifts, we are setting a price limit for each other’s gifts so that we don’t go overboard like we usually do. With that in mind, I’ve been casually dropping hints to what I want by showing him different laptops and reminding him how much I miss mine. I am hoping that he gets the hint. I used my laptop for so much, but one thing I used it the most for was editing pictures that I took with my digi. A lot of people don’t even think about the fact that you can use your laptop to save and adjust photographs from your digital camera, especially if your camera doesn’t have a huge storage like mine.

I’ve been linking him to various websites, like Savebuckets, because they have some really awesome deals. I’ve been using lines like “Savebuckets helps you find cheap laptops.” hoping that he’d get a clue and go look at them and find one that I’d like. It’s hard, though, because he never seems to get it when I try to drop hints or else he just plays dumb like he doesn’t understand. The fact that he’s not very perceptive about such things, or that he’s rather cheap makes it difficult as well. When he makes any purchase, large or small, he likes to do a price comparison with every merchant or store online that he can possibly find in order to get the best deal. It sometimes gets frustrating, but in the end I guess I usually end up getting what I want and he ends up saving a little money, so it works out either way.

Just Thinking About Christmas….

Christmas is creeping up on me so fast! I’m not even thinking about Thanksgiving to be perfectly honest, because next week I have Eric’s birthday party and then about 6 weeks later it’s already Christmas. I haven’t even started shopping yet! ArrgghhhhH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, there’s rumors of another stimulus package in the makings, and that it could very well be out before Christmas. I’m not counting on it, really, but it would be so freaking helpful right now. I mean, I’ve got enough to get him a few nice gifts, so I’m not too worried but it would be nice to know that I’m not going to be totally broke this year.

I’m more than likely going to make homemade gifts for the adult members of my family. I’ve got this idea for personalized clocks made out of CDs. I have had this idea for a very long time, and I’ve seen different websites that advertise them for about $20-$40 on average. I can probably make them for under $5 each considering all you need is a clock mechanism, an old CD, some hot glue and images that can easily be created and printed on my computer. Well, hopefully it all works out. We’ll see.
