Eric’s teacher sent home a scholastic book order form home. It’s the first one this year. I’m glad in a way because I believe a child can never have too many books. On the downside, I don’t have alot of money to spare right now. I’m probably going to send up spending more than I should, but I think I’m also going to pick a few things for Christmas gifts. They have some cool science stuff I know he’d really like. Anyway, this is just another reminder to get all the books listed up that I wanted to sell. I haven’t done it yet, and I’ve been saying that I’m going to do it for months. Well, whatever, I’m a procrastinator I guess. There’s just always so much I have to do.
I still haven’t gotten everything situated for his birthday. This is really unlike me to be perfectly honest. By this time I usually have all the shopping done for Christmas and everything.

Since my son is enrolled in the Gifted & Talented program at his school, he brings home much harder homework than the students in his class that aren’t in GT. Today he brought home some pyramid math thing where he had to come up with the missing numbers in the pyramid. It was actually way harder than it sounds, but he got it done. I think I mentioned before that he’s also doing algebra in his GT class. I think that’s pretty cool, but kind of weird. Mainly because I didn’t start learning algebra until the 9th grade and he’s just started the 3rd grade.
Anyway, as I mentioned in a recent post, my kiddo’s birthday is coming up. He doesn’t read this blog, I don’t think, but just to be on the safe side I am not going to mention what I’m getting him. I want it to be a surprise. I mean, I’m not even sure he knows about this blog, but he’s a pretty perceptive kid and he reads my other blog sometimes, so I’m thinking it’s a possibility that he reads it. Who knows.

Eric’s 9th birthday is less than a week away. Usually by now I have everything prepared but at this time I still haven’t even gotten his birthday gift. I know what I’m getting him, but plans had been made prior to this that have since been changed. See, the item I wanted to get him, Chris has a brand new one and was going to sell it to me but then he decided not to and now I’m kinda stuck going and buying one. It’s not a big deal, but like I said I usually have it all taken care of by now. I figure I won’t give him a huge party this year. He’s getting older afterall, and the past 8 birthday parties have been pretty big and really expensive. This year he wants to go Bowling, so the weekend after his birthday my parents and sister, Eric, and I are going bowling and he’s going to invite his best friend Dylan. I also told him that he could have Dylan stay the night on that night as well. I’ll either serve cake and ice cream at home and open gifts here, or we’ll do that at the bowling place. I have to call them tomorrow and find out how much it’s going to cost and get it all set up. Anyway, wish me luck!
