As many of you know, I recently had to undergo surgery and had my abdomen opened up. Well, being diabetic and all, my doctor was concerned with the healing process and that I would have a hard time. Diabetics heal slower than regular people. Anyway, my doctor decided that it would be wise to start having a nurse come in on a weekly basis until everything was healed up and I was doing better. The home health agency that I chose also set me up with a company that would send my diabetic testing supplies and anything else I needed related to home medical care to my home. The stuff never came, though, and I still to this day am unable to check my blood sugar on a daily basis. I can attribute some of the company’s failure to get me the supplies to the fact that we had a major hurricane, and our city lost it’s power for a few weeks, but it’s been almost a month since then and still no supplies. Well, then my doctor told me that since I could benefit from getting some Diabetic Socks . I’d honestly never heard of them before, but he explained to me that they would help with circulation, keeping my feet warm and also prevent blisters and sores from forming. This is a big problem with diabetics and with my recent complaint of leg pain at night he thought this would be beneficial to me. He suggested I order them from the same place I’m getting my testing supplies, but when I informed him that they never came he told me to look around and find another company and he would sign off on it so they could start delivering. I found a few companies but most of them don’t offer the diabetic socks. DHP Home Delivery does, however, and they will also deliver for free. Now I just have to find out if my insurance will cover them or if they accept my insurance.
