Random Quickie

I think I’m becoming addicted to Pogo Monopoly. I find myself wanting to play it all the time, and it’s starting to interfere with things that I’ve got to get done. It’s funny because I used to loathe the game of Monopoly, but playing it online is actually quite fun. Anyone else have this addiction to Pogo? Seriously, do they have a support group? :(

Anyway, being that it’s October, and roughly a month before my son’s 9th birthday I have to start making plans. This year I’ve already made up my mind that we aren’t having a huge party. I usually go all out every year and end up spending alot of money on his birthday. Last year we had his party at Chuck E. Cheese’s and it cost nearly $300 after everything. I mean, I guess to some people that’s not that expensive, but to me it’s quite a bit. Anyway, he says he wants to go bowling for his birthday this year. Sounds interesting! I haven’t been bowling in roughly 10 years.

Speaking of spending (or saving, to be exact) money, I need to order the Entertainment Book for 2009. I wasn’t going to at first, but then I added up what I saved last year using the coupons versus what it actually costs to purchase the book, and it’s actually well worth it. I saved roughly $150 total on eating out, grocery shopping, and various other things. I’d definitely recommend that book to anyone, especially anyone with kids because there are a ton of coupons for local restaurants where the kids can eat free.

Selling On Ebay Is Becoming Ridiculous

I’ve been wanting to sell off some of Eric’s old books for awhile, and I keep saying I’m going to list them up here to see if anyone is interested in them. He’s taken really good care of his books throughout the years, and has a ton of cool books for really young children. He’s outgrown Dr. Seuss and the Disney early reader books but he has a bunch of them. He also has a ton of Junie B. Jones books. Anyone with a child in kindergarten or 1st grade would definitely know who Junie B. Jones is. Anyway, I was going to sell them on eBay originally, and then I was going to just list them here. I don’t think they’d get alot of exposure here, so now I’m considering Amazon.Com.

Basically, I’ve decided to boycott eBay as far as selling anything goes. Their seller’s fees are becoming more than outrageous and I don’t even really see how people are making much money on eBay anymore. I used to sell a ton of stuff on eBay, but in recent years I have seen their fees increasing constantly, and frankly you’re better off just trying to sell your used stuff on Craigslist. Some people don’t trust Craigslist, but eBay has become scam central lately, anyway.

Any other ideas about sites that you can use to sell your stuff?

Woman Breastfeeding Her 7 Year Old

Ok, I breastfed my son for the first 3-4 months of his life. I totally support breast feeding your baby, however this youtube video that I saw is utterly repulsive, in my opinion. This woman breastfed her oldest daughter until she was 5 years old. This same woman is currently still breastfeeding her 7 year old daughter. In the video, you can hear the eldest daughter saying breast milk is “better than mango”. I dunno, this is all too weird for me. Like I said, I totally support breast feeding 100%, but come on. I believe after about a year, it just gets a little odd, and at the age of 5 or 7 it’s just plain sick.
