Everything Happens For A Reason

My parents haven’t been having the best of luck the past week. Their electricity still isn’t on at home, they basically ran out of money, and their vehicle broke down. My grandma paid for the replacement parts for the car, because she hadn’t really pitched in anywhere else, and she’s been staying with us since we had to evacuate. Anyway my step dad got their car back up and running. It’s an old car, like a 1989 Nissan I think, so it’s not too hard to work on. Yesterday they went to the store with I think their last five bucks to buy some stuff, and on the way they got in a wreck. Some lady hit them in their bumper. There wasn’t too much damage, but the thing is.. the lady didn’t have insurance and she busted out the tail light on my parent’s car. My step-dad gave her their information and while they were looking at the damage, the lady took off. My parents were shocked. They jumped in their car and literally chased her down, though, because who does she think she is anyway? When they caught up to her (she eventually gave up because she realized they were not giving up) she pretended that she didn’t speak English. Typical.. My parents bitched her out and she said she didn’t have insurance and offered them $60 to fix their tail light (which my stepdad can fix for about $10). She gave them the money, and then went on her way. Now my parents have a little bit of money to tide them over until we leave on Sunday. It’s weird how stuff happens. :)

Four For Friday

Four For Friday – The Birthday Edition

Q1 – Today: Some people go out of their way to tell everyone they know that today (or pick your day) is their birthday, while others avoid it like a contagious bacterial disease characterized by fever and wicked bad diarrhea (for example, I once spent an entire day with someone and never knew it was his birthday because he never told me). Do you tell people when it’s your birthday or do you prefer to keep it to yourself?
I prefer to keep it to myself. I don’t go out of my way to tell anyone that it’s my birthday. I don’t know why I’m like that.

Q2 – Keeping Track: How do you keep track of birthdays (BirthdayAlarm.com, a little black book, good memory, your computer calendar, Facebook, etc.)?
I have a really good memory when it comes to birthdays.

Q3 – Celebrating: How do you like to celebrate your own birthday? Do you do anything special for yourself, have a tradition you adhere to, take the day off from work and the rest of the world, etc.?
I usually just refrain from doing much housework on my birthday, and eat out so I don’t have to cook. Sometimes I’ll have a birthday cake, but more often I don’t.

Q4 – Change: Some of the kids I grew up with felt cheated by the fact that their birthday was in late-June, July, or August… meaning, they never got to celebrate their birthday in school like all of the kids whose birthdays fell on a school day. If you could change your birthday, would you, and if so, what date would you move it to and why?
I would change my birthday to sometime in winter or spring. Reason being my birthday falls within the first week of school, and I was always older than the rest of the class.

Sarah Palin Email Hacked

Sarah Palin’s Yahoo email (gov.palin@yahoo.com) was hacked Tuesday night by a group of hackers that claim to be members of organized group Anonymous. The group posted screenshots of emails, family photos, and her contact list. Her other email gov.sarah@yahoo.com, has been investigated by authorities who are looking into her role in the Walt Monegan firing fiasco. I wonder why though, after her email was hacked Tuesday, both of her private accounts were deleted. What is she hiding? Sarah Palin also could face charges of using her personal unarchived email account to conduct official state business. The Secret Service has requested copies of the leaked emails from the Associated Press without compliance, and the FBI has launched their own investigation. When is McCain’s email going to be hacked? Just kidding, he doesn’t know how to use email, so I don’t think he has anything to worry about there.
