Preserving Your Loved Ones In A Diamond

A small company based in southeast Switzerland has started using the ashes of dead people to make diamonds as permanent momentos of their loved ones. At first I thought this was creepy, but after giving it some thought, I think it’s actually not a bad idea. People keep their loved ones ashes in urns and boxes, so why not diamonds? The prices start at under $7,500, so they are actually affordable to more than just the filthy rich. The company’s name “Algordanza” means remembrance in their local language of Romansch is one of very few companies that sell artificial diamonds. What I think is the best thing about the remembrance diamonds is that they can be cherished for years and then passed down from generation to generation. Although remembrance diamonds probably do not appeal to everyone, some people actually mount them onto rings or necklaces, and wear them. Each diamond takes in between three weeks and three months to create and because only 2 percent of a cremated corpse’s ashes are carbon that has to be purified, the largest size of diamond Algordanza can offer is 1 carat.

What Kind Of Music Does Your Child Listen To?

Parental Advisory

It’s so amazing to me, how as you watch your babies grow, they develop their own personalities and tastes. I know it’s all part of growing up, but just to see the changes take place right before your eyes is hard to absorb, especially for a mommy. I remember when Eric’s favorite song was “You are my sunshine, my only sunshine”, now though, his favorite songs are by Linkin Park and Green day. I have to watch carefully what he listens to because Green Day’s song lyrics are pretty explicit sometimes. Another of his favorites is 3 Doors Down. The funny thing about that is they are my favorite band. So my 8 year old son and I listen to the same music. It’s so weird to me, lol.

You’ve just gotta be careful with what you let your children listen to because they are so easily influenced and some of the more popular songs out today are rather questionable. I can’t even let my son listen to the radio show I like to listen to because of all of the adult related topics that they bring up ever minute. I know that stuff like that is what keeps people listening, but honestly we are getting so far away from “family” that it’s getting harder and harder to get back.

How People Influence Your Kids

This is a touchy subject for me, because I am always worried about what bad habits my child picks up from other people and what he’s learning in general from others. I know I’m not perfect and sometimes he hears things or I say things that I shouldn’t say. Everyone makes mistakes, but what kind of influence does it have on him when he hears me say cuss words and stuff like that? I always wonder. The worst influence on my son, in my honest opinion, is my step-dad. He calls him Grandpa, and for all intents and purposes he is, but I just don’t agree with some of the things that comes out of his mouth and the way he acts. He says “faggot” and “bitch” alot. I try to correct him, but he’s one of those people who fails to see that they are doing anything wrong. I don’t appreciate the way he acts and what he’s teaching my son. I don’t know how to get it through to him, but I also emphasize to my son that the way his grandpa acts is completely wrong and that he shouldn’t act that way. He says he knows and he understands, but still.

I also wonder what kind of influence other children have on my child. I mean when you aren’t around you really don’t know what’s said and done. Eric usually tells me stuff, but sometimes I know he tells half truths or outright lies. I understand that he doesn’t want his mommy to know everything, but I don’t like the changes. I guess it’s him growing up, though. He’s not going to stay a baby forever.. although I wish he could. :(
