Mom Steals Teen Daughter’s Identity

We all do weird things sometimes, but this has got to be one of the weirdest things I’ve read about in quite some time. It seems a 33 year old woman, Wendy Brown, who wanted to go back to school and also become a cheerleader stole her own 15 year old daughter’s identity. She enrolled herself into Ashwaubenon High School using her daughter’s identity. Her daughter is currently living with the woman’s mother in Nevada. Brown then went to cheerleading practices before school started, was given a cheerleader’s locker and even attended a pool party at the cheerleading coach’s home. Her $134.50 check for her cheerleading uniform bounced. A high school employee said that even though the woman looked older than a student would normally look, she had the demeanor of a high school girl. Her mother stated that she has a history of idenitity theft crimes.

When I first read about this I thought it had to be a joke. What kind of weirdo pretends to be their 15 year old daughter to go back to high school and join the cheerleading squad? Her bond was set at $8,000 and she faces up to six years in prison if convicted. Personally, I don’t think the woman needs jail. I think she needs to be institutionalized.

WOW – it’s truly amazing what lengths people will go to to get what they want. I can’t say I’m surprised that this woman stole her own daughter’s identity in order to sort of steal her life. There are some crazy people out there in the world, but this woman certainly takes the cake. *lol*
