Mom Steals Teen Daughter’s Identity

We all do weird things sometimes, but this has got to be one of the weirdest things I’ve read about in quite some time. It seems a 33 year old woman, Wendy Brown, who wanted to go back to school and also become a cheerleader stole her own 15 year old daughter’s identity. She enrolled herself into Ashwaubenon High School using her daughter’s identity. Her daughter is currently living with the woman’s mother in Nevada. Brown then went to cheerleading practices before school started, was given a cheerleader’s locker and even attended a pool party at the cheerleading coach’s home. Her $134.50 check for her cheerleading uniform bounced. A high school employee said that even though the woman looked older than a student would normally look, she had the demeanor of a high school girl. Her mother stated that she has a history of idenitity theft crimes.

When I first read about this I thought it had to be a joke. What kind of weirdo pretends to be their 15 year old daughter to go back to high school and join the cheerleading squad? Her bond was set at $8,000 and she faces up to six years in prison if convicted. Personally, I don’t think the woman needs jail. I think she needs to be institutionalized.

Picking Up The Pieces

I met a lady yesterday who was renting an apartment where we are currently staying, and she said that her home was obliterated by hurricane Ike. She said there was nothing left of it. Her home was on Crystal Beach (Port Bolivar). I felt so bad for her. I just can’t imagine how she must feel. I was so scared the morning that Ike blew through Galveston and Houston, because I knew it was going to do some damage. Just the size of that massive thing along was something to be deeply concerned about.

What I don’t understand are all the people who did not heed warning and get out of Galveston. They couldn’t seriously have thought it was safe for them to stay? Most of them survived, yes, but now that it’s all said and done they are all running out of food and water. There’s no way in or out. It’s a dire situation right now, but I know that it’ll get better. It has to get better, doesn’t it?

Crystal Beach After Ike

That’s what Crystal Beach looks like now. It used to be full of beautiful million dollar homes. It’s heart wrenching to see what kind of impact Ike had on the Gulf Coast.

I’m sorry if you guys are sick of reading about Ike, and the devastation that it caused. I just can’t get over it. I can’t get over how many people’s lives were affected by this storm, and how many will never be the same again. There are so many without homes, power, food.. it’s just horrible.

The History Channel

Eric is addicted to the history channel. He watches it as often as he can lately. I don’t mind because it’s quite informative, but sometimes he gets scared by some of the stuff he sees on there. Yesterday they were showing what they believed to be aliens, or ufo’s that were in the water. I don’t fully understand ufo’s being under water, but supposedly it was some kind of navy officer and several of his men who saw them. He likes watching The History Channel because he learns alot from it.

His little mind amazes me because he seems to always be thinking and trying to come up with new ways to do things. Today he was trying to teach me his way of making coffee without a coffee pot. It kind of confused me how he was thinking of doing it, but that’s not the point. The point is he’s quite intelligent and innovative and I enjoy listening to all his ideas and thoughts. Although sometimes I do wonder if it’s possible for him to ever stop talking. Especially now, because we are stuck in this little 1 bedroom apartment awaiting the ok to be able to return to our homes.
