Some Kids Love To Learn
A friend of mine told me today that her daughter’s pre-k teacher said that her little girl is the most eager to learn child in her class. She also said that the little girl is very helpful when it comes to helping out the other students when they don’t understand something. She’s really proud of her. She said it makes her feel like she’s doing something right. I’m posting about this because I can so relate to what she said. I know I’m not the world’s greatest mother, or even close to it.. but when my son’s teachers commend me on my child’s study habits, or love of learning, or how well he reads, or just how intelligent he is overall, I tend to take some credit for it and it makes me feel good. I know it’s not all my doing, because he’s the one actually learning, and increasing his knowledge of everything around him, but I also know that without me having read to him so much when he was younger, and reminding him how fun and important school is on the daily, he may not be the little genius he is today.
