The Egg And The Bottle

This is a classic experiment that we tried in science class when I was a child. Eric and I tried it at home, we used both the balloons and the hardboiled eggs just because we could. It’s kind of hard to find an old glass milk bottle, but our local grocer sells organic milk as well as chocolate milk in these old types of bottles so it wasn’t too difficult for us to find. If you have trouble finding the bottle, you could use one of those orange juice bottle. With those you’d definitely need to use the water balloon.

I absolutely LOVE Steve Spangler and so does my son. Remember, because this involves fire, parental supervision is a must.

My Child Loves School

My child loves school. A lot of children these days don’t like school too much, so when I ask my son how his school day was and he replies “It was great!”, it makes me smile. When I ask him what his favorite thing about school is, he says “Everything.” That makes me proud. I’m proud of him, but also proud of myself. I’m proud of myself because I know that without me helping him to be a good student and going over his spelling, math facts, science homework, and being involved with his education, he probably wouldn’t be as into it as he is. I encourage him when he does well, and give him lots of praise. I also encourage him when he doesn’t do so well, and continue to praise him, but also try to instruct and help him along until he grasps whatever it is he was having trouble with.

Anyway, he has yet to meet his GT teacher. He was supposed to go to GT yesterday, but for some reason they didn’t pull the GT kids out. I think his teacher was out sick or something.
