Yesterday while I was listening to the morning radio show on a local station I like to listen to, they started talking about sex. Now, that’s normally not a big deal but for some reason it struck me that there are probably alot of kids that happen to listen to that same particular station in the mornings on their way to school and what not. I mean, granted it’s obviously a mature audience type of show, but who’s to stop a kid with an mp3 player that plays fm radio stations from listening. I know Eric likes that type of music and listens to that radio station all the time, and I simply don’t feel comfortable with him listening to them talk about the benefits of having sex. I know it’s my job to make sure he isn’t exposed to such things, but I can’t be with him 24/7 and I definitely can’t control every single thing he sees or hears. So what to do? I mean their conversation wasn’t terrible it just wasn’t appropriate for a kid to be listening to.
So I’m thinking maybe, just maybe, even though I love that radio station and their early morning show, they should consider cleaning up their daily bit of conversation just a little bit and maybe make it more kid friendly. Just a thought.

Depending on what was said I’d probably be a bit worried to. I mean it’s one thing if they are talking about sex when kids are in school, but early in the morning when they are dressing for school and stuff? That’s wrong. There’s a station out here that I listen to all the time because it has the loud rock that I love and early in the mornings (7ish) they’ve had some risque conversations. I always laughed and enjoyed it until I started babysitting and I realized how I couldn’t listen anymore with the kids around. Even if they don’t understand I could see them going to their parents and being like “Mommy what’s boobies?” lol
In answer to your question, my brother and two very close friends live in Washington. So that’s one reason I want to move there. Plus it’s beautiful and also… I’m so done with California lol
The thing is I love this radio show, but it appears I may have to give up listening to it in the mornings until after Eric’s in school. That’s ok, I’d rather give up listening than have him exposed to things he shouldn’t and needn’t be exposed to at his young age.
Well, Lissi, about Washington… I hope that it works out for you. I know right now you are in a tough position but I hope you don’t let the stress from worrying get the best of you. Keep your head up, things do get better. From what I know of you, you are a strong woman and you will be just fine.
In case you didn’t know, I’m the same Angela who also runs unsexy.net.
Is this about The Buzz? They’re not all that clean in the mornings that is true, but that makes them a fun radio station to listen to on my drive to work (I think you converted me). It does suck though, they should at least clean it up till after 8.
Yes, this is about The Buzz. I love those guys, I love their morning show. And you’re right, they make it fun to listen to them, and I always get a good laugh. (glad you like them and glad I could be a part of converting someone to a really awesome morning show!) It’s just that perhaps until at least say 7:45 they could refrain from too much adult talk. I understand though, I just have stopped listening in the mornings when Eric is with me.
