My Kiddo Is Learning To Use Animation Shop

Ok, I know this isn’t the most spectacular animation ever. But keep in mind, he’s only 8. I personally think he did rather well. This is Link from The Legend Of Zelda throwing his sword around. :X

The Big 3rd Grader

We survived the first week of school. Woohoo. Eric said today they took a test to see what reading level they are one, but he didn’t get the results back yet. I’m kind of anxious to see what level he’s on.

I also got a note sent home from his Gifted & Talented teacher. He’s going to have a different one this year, and the note basically said he’s going to have GT class every thursday for 2 hours. Also, they will be learning Shakespeare. I find that so strange, we weren’t introduced to Shakespeare until middle school. Well, maybe not really “learning” Shakespeare. This is basically what the letter said:

Grades 3-5 Program Components:
1. creativity and problem solving using Odyssey of the Mind curriculum
2. leadership and fine arts with a focus on the works of Shakespeare
3. math, logic, and reasoning using a variety of challenging verbal and nonverbal activities

Either way, since my kiddo loves to learn, he’s going to have a blast.

First Week

Well the first week of school is almost over. Eric’s gotten math homework for the last 2 days, and he’s been doing good with getting it done. Let’s see how that goes over time though. LOL. He’s been doing well with getting up in the mornings, but going to bed at night is kind of a hassle. I have been telling him that it’s gonna catch up with him and I was right. He passed right out in my bed just a little while ago and I couldn’t resist taking a picture. He looks so cute and peaceful.

Anyway, he enjoys school. He likes his teacher, and he likes the fact that he gets to switch classes now for math and reading. Oh yeah, we saw his Gifted and Talented teacher at the grocery store the other day, I don’t remember if I mentioned it. He looks like Santa Claus. :P
