Bed Bugs?

One day not long ago my son woke up with a weird rash on his belly. I started looking all over google and I found alot of weird things related to rashes, but namely I found tons of stuff on bed bugs. Now this got me a bit concerned cause I had never dealt with anything like that, and was worried I’d have to start looking for pesticides for bed bugs. Gross! Fortunately, after close examination of our beds, I learned that we did not, in fact, have a bed bug infestation, but I still have to figure out what that rash is on his belly.

Random Kiddo Stuff

I was cleaning my son’s room today and I came across his creative writing journal from school. He’s so funny and he’s got an amazing imagination. It reminded me that he’d been asking me to set him up with either wordpress or a livejournal. He’s been wanting to get into writing more this summer, but I have been debating on whether or not I should. I mean he’s only 8, and I’m kind of wary about “exposing” him to the internet already, but I also figure if I do not allow comments or any way for anyone to contact him or leave him any sort of feedback whatsoever, then it might not be a bad thing.

This coming week and each week thereafter in July he has his mini gourmet cooking class and his mad scientist labs for an hour each. I’m thinking he’ll really enjoy the science one. Not so sure about the cooking one, but you never know. I’m also trying to come up with some more fun things for us to do together this summer on a budget, and it’s kind of hard. I know we can go to the park, have a picnic or something, even go to the skatepark. There’s also this rock climbing place he went to during his Summer Day Camp and he loved it and had asked if we could go back. I’m gonna look into that and see how much it costs.

He’s currently still at my mom’s until Tuesday and although I am enjoying the peace and quiet I do miss him terribly and I’ll be glad when he’s home.
