Now though, ask her about it and she thinks it's absolutely wonderful that my son has a cell phone. Personally, I think when he's out with friends or his grandparents (they don't have cell phones) and I need to get in touch with him or check on him.. or he needs to get in touch with me, he can. For me, the extra 10.00 a month for his phone to be on my plan is well worth it. I don't use it as a replacement for watching him or anything, but sometimes kids have a bad habit of saying they will be one place and then going to a totally different place. My son used to use the excuse that he didn't "feel like coming home to ask you if i could go to so and so's house". With the phone he can just call me and ask if he can go or not.
