The Infamous Shrek Chia

So, I’m not quite sure if my son actually reads this blog. I know he reads my other blog sometimes, though. Anyway, if he reads this he might be a little pissed at me, but I threw out his Chia Shrek. That thing has lived it’s life and it was time for it to go. I mean, the whole Chia thing is a nice idea and all, but my goodness they can get gross. I told him to keep it clean, but I guess he just either forgot or didn’t feel like it. Cause inside the Chia Shrek it was kinda icky, like some slimy stuff had gathered around the base of it and basically it was just plain nasty. Anyone who knows me knows I have ocd about cleanliness and I was just not having it. Disgusting!! So needless to say the Chia Shrek went in the garbage. I’m not going to volunteer the information unless he asks. LOL. :(

The Kiddo’s Report Card

So last week my son brought home his final report card. At the top it says that the expected reading level for his age group is 28. His reading level is currently listed at 38 +, being that they can’t measure higher than a 38 reading level in 2nd grade. They still grade mostly on a letter scale for 2nd graders. E for Excellent, S for Satisfactory and such, except for English and Language Arts and Math. They do number grading on those. Eric got all E’s except for one S in conduct (hmph). And in English and Language Arts his final average was 97, in Math his final average was 96. He’s so smart, and I’m so proud of him. He’s a hard worker, and takes pride in doing well in school. So yeah, I just wanted to brag. :)

Need Ideas For Summer…

Well today is the last day of Eric’s little summer day camp thing. He loved it. I’m definitely going to enroll him next year. He’s got a children’s cooking class next month and a science thing, too.. and then after that I really don’t know. I am trying to figure out what to do with him to keep him busy for the summer. I’m going to get him into swimming lessons, and I’m going to purchase him an I.D for the local community center. Our community center is really nice and well maintained, and it’s overall a great place for kids to hang out. It’s got a game room and a skate park. I used to go there when I was a kid, but they’ve made tons of upgrades.

Anyway, I’ve got to come up with some more stuff to keep him occupied this summer. Otherwise, with the heat and all, he’ll probably just want to hang out inside and play video games and look at star wars crap on youtube.
