Plastic Surgery

Many people in this day and age use plastic surgery as a way to help themselves feel better about the way that they look. I find myself on the fence about the subject. I mean if you are really that unhappy about the way you look, or if you have been disfigured, then I don’t see anything wrong with a little augmentation or enhancement. I feel that beauty itself is in the eye of the beholder, meaning what you might find attractive, another person may not find attractive at all. I do understand however, if you just geniunely dislike what you see when you look in the mirror, or you want to feel better about yourself. I don’t think, though, that if you have a low self esteem that it’ll be immediately fixed by getting a Breast Enlargement, but I can see how for some it might help them to feel a little more confident.

I actually have a good friend who got Breast Reduction because her breasts were too large and it causing her back problems. Not to mention that it was very difficult findinga bra to fit her comfortably. She had to get them custom made. She said it was a simple procedure, but the recovery time was a bit of a hassle. You need to take a few weeks off of work, and you can’t really do anything strenuous. After about 2 weeks the stitches are removed and you can go on with your normal every day life. I personally think my friend looks and feels better. That’s an instance where I think having plastic surgery is reasonable, and beneficial to a person’s lifestyle. Just don’t over do it.

Summer Camp

Well, today was Eric’s 2nd day at youth nature camp. It’s just a week long, but he’s having so much fun. Yesterday they went to the nature center and went hiking, and today they went to Armand Bayou, went on a nature walk, and looked at the different animals that inhabit the area. It started to rain though, so they had to come back to nature camp early. He’s excited about tomorrow because they are going rock climbing. I’m a little nervous about that, but it’s mostly an “introduction” to rock climbing, and they won’t be climbing any overly high or dangerous rocks, but still. That’s my baby.

He’s also excited about Friday, the last day of the nature camp, because they are going fishing. Fishing is one of his favorite things to do, although for the life of me I can’t figure out why. I guess it’s a boy thing. lol. He likes going fishing with his paternal grandfather, which is something he hasn’t gotten to do in awhile. He usually comes to visit his family for a little while in the summer, so I’m sure if he does he’ll come by and take Eric out on the boat.

I’m glad for the most part that it’s summertime. I just can’t believe that my little baby is going to be in 3rd grade. Crazy.
