Well school is officially out for the summer. My kiddo brought home all his stuff today from school and got his report card. His grades are pretty good, not as good as I’m used to, but good nonetheless. I think the lowest grade he got all year was a 95 in math, so I can’t complain!
He’s going to my mom’s this weekend, which is cool with me. I’m driving him out there today and then I’ll have some time to myself. I so need it. Monday starts his week of day camp. I already bought all the stuff for his lunches and snacks while he’s at day camp next week. It’s going to be so hot outside, that’s my biggest concern, because it’s a nature camp.
Tomorrow he’s going to a graduation for a friend of our family, and my mom’s kind of pushing for my son to get a haircut. He refuses though, because he says he likes his hair the way it is and he’s trying to grow it out a little bit more. I think a haircut would do him some good, but I’m not going to force him. I mean, he’s 8 years old now.. I think he’s at an age where he is capable of deciding how he wants his hair to look, within reason of course. My mom’s not the one who has to wear his hair, he is, so I think ultimately if he wants to have a little shaggy head of hair, then so be it. I’m sure she’ll get over it.

Wow, with the lowest being a 95, you must be so proud!! Does your Mom live far away? Yay that he gets to spend some time with her and give you a break. It’s cute how kids that age all want shaggy hair..
Julie, thanks, I am proud.
My mom lives in a little hick town right outside Angleton, about an hour south of here. She lives down off 288, if you know where that is. It is nice to get a break, but I miss him so much when he’s gone. I guess that’s normal though.
Those are awesome scores for your son! (Considering that 95 is the lowest!)
As for the haircut; I say… leave him. Well, you’re doing that already, but even if your mother thinks otherwise, he’ll see one day when he grows up how bad of a decision that could have been. Lol.
Ya, the scores are awesome.
I didn’t force him to cut his hair. I mean, I may not like it, and my parents may not like it, but it’s his hair. If he likes it that way then so be it, you know? LOL.
Your son’s such a smart cookie! A 95 as the lowest score is really impressive.
He got better grades then I ever did. LOL
Whoah! Ur kid seems to be really smart! I like him! Well, as for the haircut, I would say that it’d be better if they’ll leave it the way it is. Besides, it’s his hair, lol. He should decide for it no other else as for my perception.
Thank you Khayte! I agree with you totally on the hair cut thing. I mean we aren’t the ones who are having to wear that hair. If he likes it like that and he wants it like that, then I’m leaving it. It’s not so bad anyway, he likes to spike it up in all directions and it’s not really THAT long, just a little fluffy. My parents are rednecks though, they like shaved heads and beer.. so you know.
