I Love Steve Spangler!

My kiddo’s favorite website is the Steve Spangler Science site. He loves all the cool “experiments” and is always asking to try out the ones he finds on the website. We sometimes do them, if they aren’t too complicated. I’ll have him make me a list of materials that are needed for the experiment and we’ll go through it to see which items we already have and which ones I’ll have to pick up at the store. What I love most about the website is you can buy most of the materials for each experiment right off the website.

Anyway, if you’ve got school age children, I would definitely recommend SteveSpanglerScience.Com to you and your children. Not only does your child learn from the site, but they have fun in the process.

Eric’s New Computer

Eric’s new computer finally arrived last week. He’s been so anxious to get it. I picked him up a new desk at Best Buy. (I had a gift card) He needed a new desk because the one he had I purchased when he was 4, and it wasn’t really made for a computer. It was really tiny, anyway, and he had outgrown it and the little teeny tiny chair that came with it, lol. The chair had long been thrown out. Anyways, he really loves the new desk. There’s plenty of room on it for him to do his homework, plus use his computer and what not. Hopefully it will last him into his teens.

We purchased the computer off HP.Com, and I think we got a decent deal on it. (Just over $500) It originally came with 1 gb of RAM, but upgraded to 2 gb because I didn’t think 1 gb was enough. The original processor that came on the computer was an AMD Sempron 1.8 ghz. We upgraded to AMD Athlon 2.3 ghz for better performance. I love AMD, and that’s one of the reasons I am partial to HP these days. It also had a free hd upgrade and it came with a free printer.

Anyways, he’s been wanting to set up the internet on it, so I installed my old wireless adapter. When the internet will actually work, I’m gonna set up some kind of parental controls so that he will only be able to access certain websites and what not. Cause you never know what kids can come across on the internet.

I need to go call my ISP again and find out what the problem is with the DSL. It’s starting to get ridiculous.
