This little craft project is fun and easy. They also make great gifts. I made one for my grandmother when I was a child, and she still has it to this very day.
Supplies You’ll Need:
Construction paper or poster board (I prefer poster board because it is thicker and more durable.)
Glue stick (Works way better than regular glue)
Safety Scissors
Laminate sheets or a roll of contac paper
Photographs, pictures from magazines, hand-drawn images, etc
Crayons, markers, stickers, glitter, or anything else you can think of to add decoration
Directions:
Let your child cut a piece of the poster board down to about the size of a regular placemat. If you are using construction paper you will not need to cut it.
Have your child pick out photographs, pictures from magazines, or any images he/she wants to use on their placemat.
Using the glue stick, have your kiddo attach the pictures to the poster board or construction paper.
Let him/her add decoration using crayons, markers, stickers, glitter, or other decorating materials.
Remind your child to write their name on the placemat. Try using really bold letters so that it shows up really well.
Cover both sides of the placemat with either contac paper or the laminate sheets. This part is a little tricky and you’ll probably have to do it or help your child.
Voila! A handmade, unique placemat that will make a great addition to your child’s play-time, dinner-time or a great gift.
(When Eric finishes his placemat, I’ll post up a picture.)
As always if you have any fun craft projects you’d like to share, I’d love to hear about them.

I’m looking forward to the picture hehe.
