So the kiddo took a couple of pictures while he was at my mom’s over Memorial Day Weekend. He used their little digital camera, and was taking pics of random things he thought I would find interesting while he was out and about on Saturday afternoon. So here’s a pic I thought was really cute. It’s of a baby horse that was just born.

I love my little photographer!!

As I’ve said time and time again, I am a proud subscriber to the Steve Spangler science eNewsletter. This week in my email is an “experiment” on gardening with water jelly crystals. Using these water jelly crystals helps conserve water, which in today’s world is an important issue. The real name for these crystals is polyacrylamide copolymer gel, and is non-toxic. The crystals are sold under the trade name of Hydrosource and Soil Moist. One pound of Hydrosource will absorb up to 35 gallons of rainwater or snowmelt, and 20-25 gallons of tap water, depending on it’s salt content. Anyways, I could go on and on, but I’ll just link you so that you can check it out for yourself. If you are interested in gardening or conserving water, or just want to check out some of the cool experiments then feel free. There are several different experiments that you can try with this stuff, but since we haven’t actually done any yet, I’m not going to post them up. If anyone uses these or has tried any of these experiments at home, comment and let me know how you like them. I’d really like to know. The Video and Experiments with the Water Jelly Crystals is here. Check it out.

I’m so lucky to have such a great kid. I mean of course he’s not perfect, no one is, but he’s freaking amazing. I had to go to the hospital on Tuesday night cause I’ve got some health problems, and am having some complications, and I had to bring him with me cause there is no one to watch him. He sat up there with me all night and the next day and didn’t complain at all. He rubbed my back and cuddled with me the entire time except for when he passed out. Now that I’m home, and basically unable to move around too much, he is being very helpful. He’s taking care of his mommy. I am so grateful to have him in my life.
