On Monday my son brought home this flier from school. It was for Summer Day Camp at a local church. Day camp lasts 1 week in July, Monday thru Friday from 7:45am to 5:00pm and costs $169.00. Eric really wanted to go, but I’m sorry I just can’t afford that much money just for 1 week’s time. What about the rest of the summer? So I was talking to the boyfriend and I mentioned perhaps he’d be interested in something else, like Karate or something. My mom had suggested it before, and Eric would really love it. He’s always saying he wants to learn Karate. Plus he’s gained quite a bit of weight this year, and Karate might actually help slim him up a little bit. So I decided to start pricing the Karate uniforms for kids. Wow, some of them are quite expensive and you don’t really get much with the uniform. I found a couple of places selling Martial Arts Gear for reasonable prices. I’m going to find out how much Karate classes are, exactly what he would need for the class, and then price the uniforms again and add it all together to figure out exactly how much it’s going to cost. I think he’ll benefit from taking a Karate class. It’ll help teach him discipline, as well as self defense, and keep him healthier.
